InterResolve turns to mypeoplebiz to support strategic growth recruitment

Posted on 09 March 2010 by admin

InterResolve, the UK’s only specialist injury claims mediator dealing in volume directly between claimants and insurance companies, is using multichannel recruitment platform mypeoplebiz to support recruitment for its growth plans.

The twelve regional development manager roles being recruited through mypeoplebiz will support the strategic growth of InterResolve and help support sales activity across the UK.

Peter Ashdown-Barr of InterResolve, comments:
“With all the planned growth at InterResolve, having an external partner focus our recruitment drive has been incredibly useful.  By hosting all our current methods of recruitment on one platform, the results are monitored and fed back to us rapidly. We need the best people, so using a variety of channels to attract them makes sense, including reaching candidates through social networks that are not even actively job hunting.”

Ashdown-Barr adds; “Additionally, mypeoplebiz will allow us to manage our relationships with our established recruitment suppliers effectively, as well as reducing our agency spend”

Frances Gillibrand, Account Director at mypeoplebiz, comments:
“A specialist organisation like InterResolve needs a way into niche social media networks. With our platform they can communicate with these groups directly and with the level of intimacy these networks are used to. Equally our financial rewards for referrers provide a reason for people not actively job hunting to peruse our site and widen our candidate network by proxy.”

Recruitment agencies can visit www.mypeoplebiz.com to register as referrers for the positions, or contact Parker Crockford on 0203 009 3121 or parker.crockford@mypeoplebiz.com

Agencies V’s Social Networks?

Posted on 21 October 2009 by admin

New research shows candidate flow from Recruitment Agencies V’s Social Networks

The online recruitment portal mypeoplebiz have conducted research in to the break down of the candidate flow via the portal to try and ascertain the impact that the social networks are having on candidate flow versus the more traditional format of recruitment agency introductions.
From June 2009 to date, the findings show that the site has just over 220 agencies registered and supplying candidates on a flat fee basis to employers form a diverse range of industries ranging form Nestle, Sony, Camelot, Sab Miller, Next, Gerson Lehman Group, Jessops, McArthur Glen, Aspect, DSG International, Selfridges, Inter Resolve, Universal, Britvic, Royal London Insurance, OC&C, HMV, Premier Farnell, etc. The agencies are producing approximately 50% of the candidate flow.
The social networks, through a group known on the site as REFERERS who are actively encouraged to sign up to the site and introduce their connections for jobs advertised on mypeoplebiz; are at present supplying 30% of candidate flow through recommendations. Paul Kirkup, who conducted the research, says that there is a huge opportunity to increase this flow:
“So far, over 2000 Referrers have signed up, but this is going to grow significantly”. If we look at Ofcom’s research into social networking, it shows that in 2008 4 in 10 adults in the UK where using social networking at an average of 5.3 hours per week. Bebo states the average time spent per visit is estimated at 40minutes and Ofcom further reports that UK adults are spending more time on social networking than their EU neighbors. The other interesting statistic for us is that the biggest age group in terms of percentage is 35-49 year olds who constituted 25% of users in 2008 and according to the latest facebook stats on iStartegyLab the 35-54 year olds age group are the fastest growing age group of the site, growing by 276.4% in only 6 months. This is the category that we expect to use mypeoplebiz to either look for a job or refer a friend for a cash bonus, as this is usually the age-group where people are most economically productive. At the moment we are getting 20% of our applicants through direct applications, but this has to grow when you bear in mind the expansion of facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
The findings reflect our opinion that a recruitment portal at this stage of the markets development/sophistication has to offer a “rounded” service to clients and cannot simply try to offer clients a “direct only” solution for their recruitment. Some recruitment industry commentators have argued that the social networks are the Holy Grail that will lead to a mainly “direct only” source of candidates for employers in the future.
However, Frank Varela, one of the founders of mypeoplebiz said:

“That’s why we created mypeoplebiz, to help employers simplify recruitment, reduce the cost to hire (saving you up to 50%) reduce the time to hire at the same time helping employers to find and recruit effective people. It’s all about providing a system that works for employers in helping them to recruit better people regardless of where the candidate flow comes from and there are many ways to reduce agency cost, but clearly recruitment agencies and good recruiters have a big part to play. Referral schemes and direct applications are our specialty and we are doing as much as anyone else to utilise social networks, but you have to get the bigger picture and that is about achieving a balance in your approach to recruitment and also benefiting dramatically from reduced administration as well as having a complete view of all recruitment activities”.

3 months on: over 200 agency members and 1500 referrers

Posted on 12 October 2009 by admin

mypeoplebiz.com, the recruitment portal launched this summer, has grown significantly. The portal now has a referral network of over 1500 individuals who are actively recommending people to jobs advertised on the site and activating passive candidates, plus a further network of about 2000 people who are directly connected via groups and forums networks. These networks are continuously growing and providing viral marketing for the site as well as a great opportunity for employers to do more cost effective direct hiring.

Just over 200 agencies UK wide signed up to the portal and are actively introducing candidates for the pre-set flat fees advertised on the site. The agencies are a mix of the specialist and generalists spanning across HR, Retail, Leisure & Hospitality, IT, Technology / On-line, Marketing, Finance, Commercial, Legal, accountancy, etc.

Frank Varela, founder said we are delighted with the initial success and with the response from the recruitment community and the support from clients.

Darren Jesse, finance Director at Kingsley Napley, the Law Firm who recently signed up to mypeoplebiz says “the potential for new candidates generated through the social networks and referrals generally is vast and certainly something that we recognise as valuable and that could save significant fees for Kingsley Napley. We also liked the ability of the tracking system to tell us where candidates are coming from and to manage their applications electronically and the ability to negotiate a fee upfront and to cap the fee without having to have lots of negotiations with numerous recruiters is of great benefit”

Richard Darwent, CFO Flutteroo.com said: “They have definitely delivered for us. Mypeoplebiz.com has provided us with an excellent service. As a newly created and developing start up we needed a new member of the team quickly. Within 24 hours we had a list of candidates and within 1 week we had our first member of the business recruited and on board. We will be using the site to recruit in the future as they have definitely delivered for us.

Jean Fenwick MREC, of Fenwick Consulting said “ Mypeoplebiz.com offers an independent recruitment consultancy a unique proposition in the marketplace – the ability to work on qualified live vacancies from companies that are welcoming candidates via the Mypeoplebiz ‘agency’ channel as well as from ‘direct’ candidates and ‘referrals’. With no canvassing, all fees agreed upfront and the technology in place to ensure everything is totally transparent, I predict that Mypeoplebiz will become a huge success and a vital tool to grow our business.”
