RK Accountancy Santa Dash

Posted on 02 December 2009 by admin

Consultants from RK Accountancy’s Liverpool branch will be running in this years’ Santa Dash, in aid of the charity, Radio City’s Cash for Kids.

Radio City’s Cash for Kids are recognised for helping children and young people suffering from poverty, sickness, physical & mental disabilities. The charity distributes grants to children’s community groups and charities, aiming to improve the lives of children in Liverpool, the North West and North Wales.

The charity is committed to making a difference to those it supports, in the last eight years they have given in excess of one million pounds away in grants, helping over 47,000 children in 2008 alone.

Thousands of runners are expected to take to the streets on Sunday 6th December 2009, dressed as Father Christmas to help raise money for charity.

Managing Director of RK Accountancy Paul Waite comments “It’s a great event- with a sea of red and white descending on Liverpool city centre, bringing festive cheer in support of such a fantastic local charity.”

Liverpool proudly holds world record status for the Santa Dash in 2005 – but this year RK Accountancy are hoping to be part of a record smashing team, with even more people taking part and raising money for a local charity.

Waite added “Our colleagues and clients have been wonderfully supportive, and the team are looking forward to dressing-up for a record-beating year!”

Michael Pretty to Trek along Great Wall of China

Posted on 26 November 2009 by admin

Michael Pretty, Sales & Marketing Manager for the web based recruitment software company i-BR has signed up for a Trek along the Great Wall of China for Hearts, “Have a Heart” charity next May.

The Trek consists of 10 long, hard days walking over some of the most inhospitable terrain you can imagine without the luxury of a comfy bed, duvet and shower. Michael said “I think this must be a mid-life crisis or something along those lines. I heard about the Trek and the absolutely fantastic work that the Charity does for children and found myself compelled to sign up; The Trek itself is going to be a real challenge for me, so I really hope that individuals / companies will dig deep to sponsor me for such a worthwhile cause. Any amount will be gratefully received (it all adds up). I am more than happy to discuss advertising on tee shirts / caps or such like, should anyone have any other fundraising ideas then please feel free to let me know”

The Charity focuses on building a better future for the children living in our community including those who are vulnerable, face adversity, are living with a disability or illness and are deprived of the childhood that every young person deserves.

Michaels target is £3000 but he hopes that he can do much better; online donations can be made at:

Super fit Kinetic race to raise £1,300 for employee’s son

Posted on 14 October 2009 by admin

Running fanatics at Engineering & Manufacturing recruitment specialist’s Kinetic plc have won the Medium Business category at the ‘2009 BUPA 10K Great Yorkshire Business Run’.  More importantly, their efforts raised a fund of £1,300 to provide financial support for Leighton Jones (son of Kinetic’s long standing employee, Margaret Paweleck), who has complications following his 3rd Kidney transplant in March 2009.  Having been in intensive care for the last 5 months, Leighton and his family have experienced the obvious implications of him being unable to work.

Margaret Paweleck, Operational Support Manager at Kinetic said:
“I really appreciate the Kinetic running team undertaking this race to support what has been a difficult and distressing time.  I am totally overwhelmed that £1,300 was raised by my colleagues; this will go a long way to helping my son’s family with their everyday living expenses whilst he remains in hospital”.

Rachael Fecitt, Human Resources Manager at Kinetic added:
“Margaret is a valued employee of Kinetic and has worked here for 15 years. Knowing what she and her family are going through with Leighton being ill, we wanted to provide some tangible support.  I am equally proud of both the staff who gave up their Sunday to partake in the race and the amazing personal generosity of Kinetic’s employees, their friends and family during these difficult economic times”.

Posted on 25 September 2009 by admin

London, 24 September 2009 – Adecco Group UK & Ireland, a division of the world leader in human resource solutions, today announced the signing of a charity partnership with ParalympicsGB, the registered charity responsible for Britain’s teams at the Paralympic Summer and Winter Games.

The partnership will see ParalympicsGB become Adecco’s “official charity”, and complements the firm’s role as the Official Recruitment Services provider for London 2012, as well as reinforcing Adecco’s ongoing commitment to supporting and encouraging diversity both within the workplace and the wider community.

“With London 2012 now less than three years away, the countdown is on,” said Susan Yallop, Director at Adecco. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to support an organisation which not only works for such a worthy cause but is also one that shares our core values of determination, integrity, responsibility and developing talent.”

As the body responsible for selecting, preparing, entering, funding and managing Britain’s teams at the Paralympic Games, sponsorship funding will assist in all elements of ParalympicsGB’s activities in the lead up to the Paralympic Games in 2012 and the Paralympic Winter Games in 2014. As part of its commitment, Adecco will also initiate a fundraising programme to raise donations for and awareness of ParalympicsGB.

“The standard of competition in Paralympic sport continues to reach new heights every year, so making sure the team is best prepared to perform has become an increasingly challenging responsibility,” said Phil Lane, CEO of ParalympicsGB. “Adecco’s ongoing sponsorship commitment will play a vital role in helping us provide Britain’s finest disabled athletes with the support and resources they need.”

ParalympicsGB aims to send the best prepared Great Britain Team to each Paralympic Games, and relies primarily on sponsorship and fundraising for its funding. The organisation is responsible for managing all elements involved in sending the GB Team to the Paralympic Games, including providing the optimum and most cohesive performance environment for both athletes and support staff.

Its mission statement includes a commitment to performance excellence by members of the GB team at key international sporting events as well as maintaining second place in the Paralympic medal table (ParalympicsGB have finished second at the past three Summer Games).

As the official recruitment services provider for London 2012, Adecco supports London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) in filling a wide range of positions between now and 2012, as well as helping LOCOG employees with outplacement services once London 2012 has concluded.
